Established in 2014, Axe and Awl Leatherworks is a husband and wife owned business located in the mountains outside Asheville, NC. What started at first as a hobby serving a few select clients quickly grew into something much larger. In 2015 Axe and Awl launched their website and by 2016 demand for A&A leather was so great that Courtney had to quit the local ER, where she was working as a full time paramedic.
After establishing and growing a strong online presence, in 2017 Axe and Awl took their show on the road to various Fire Expositions and have now sold their hand built leather goods all over the country including FDIC in Indianapolis and The Firehouse Expo in Nashville.
The craft of working leather is slow, exact and requires trial and error. Spencer, a career firefighter understands that hand built leather goods that are used on the fire ground not only have to be practical, they have to be durable. He can tell you why they have chosen every design element on every item they make and Courtney carries on the century old tradition of personalizing and decorating each leather good by hand. Axe and Awl leather goods have proven themselves time and again under fire conditions in every state all over the country and will not fail.
There is pride in every build from inception to completion. You can rest assured that every piece of leather that displays the Axe and Awl makers mark has been hand cut, hand built and decorated by Spencer and Courtney just for you.
Sincerely,
